505Turbeaux mentioned the other day that everyone should make their own pizza at least once. I agree whole heartedly, as I always do, at least once a week. It's really not that difficult at all.

I made the pizza Friday and haven't had a chance to post them until now. (word to the wise, a scratched cornea is NOT fun).

So, here it is in step by step, Pulled Pork Pizza. The only step you don't see is cooking the pork, which is quite simple. Put a pork butt in a slow cooker on low for about 14-16 hours. When it's done, let it cool. Sauce accordingly. That's it.

Step one, turn out your dough onto a floured surface. The dough recipe I usually use is this one.

Although really any dough recipe will do. I usually get two 16" (roughly) pizzas out of one dough.

Next, preheat your oven to your desired cooking temperature. For how I like my pizza (doughy and not crispy, I usually go with 500°, without a pizza stone.

Next, work your dough into your desired pizza round shape. I know it might be sacrilegious to some, but often times I use a rolling pin. Sorry, I'm not a pizza master and aren't the best at hand tossing, although I have done that before too.

Next, dress your pizza. I cook my pizzas on a pizza screen, so I put the dough on there prior to dressing.

Pulled pork with Sweet Baby Ray's sauce and mozzarella on top. I almost always use shredded (I buy in big blocks and shred myself), but I had this left over from when I made lasagna last week.

Put it in the oven for about 9 minutes (again, I like my pizza not to be overly crispy)

Here is the final results:

Enjoy.
